Welcome to Norfolk Public Schools
The Norfolk Public School District has over 4,000 students. There is a 9-12 high school, an alternative high school (Alternatives for Success or AFS), one 7th and 8th grade junior high, one 5th and 6th upper elementary, and six K-4 elementary schools. The district also provides a pre-school program, an early childhood program for special needs students, and a public K-4 Montessori program; all which are housed at Lincoln Elementary School.
"Preparing All Students to Succeed in the 21st Century."
This statement reflects the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the district--improving achievement for ALL students. Our world has changed and is changing. Our primary responsibility is student learning and offering all students educational opportunities that will maximize their potential and provide equitable access to a 21st century education. The core academic subjects remain the foundation of a comprehensive education; however, the workplace and postsecondary education environments of today demand expert thinking and complex communication. Norfolk is fortunate to have staff at every level who are dedicated to helping students reach these goals.
