Luhr wins Distinguished Education Administrator Award

Norfolk Public Schools is proud to announce that Mary Luhr, Director of Student Programs, has received the Distinguished Special Education Administrator award from the Nebraska Association of Special Education Supervisors.


Mary Luhr has been at NPS for 16 years, most recently serving as the Director of Student Services. 


“Mary’s dedication to our students with special needs is unparalleled. She works tirelessly to support not only our students but also staff and families, embodying the true spirit of advocacy for individuals with disabilities. Mary has been a champion of inclusivity while ensuring the necessary support and services are provided to meet each students’ unique needs.” said Dr. Jami Jo Thompson, Superintendent of Norfolk Public Schools. 


The Nebraska Association of Special Education Supervisors (NASES) mission is to promote quality educational practices by providing visionary leadership, services and support. This award is to highlight and recognize an administrator for their accomplishments and contributions in the special education field.
