Educator Opportunities

Each spring NPSF offers multiple Educator Opportunities in one easy-to-use application.  If you are a NPS teacher or staff member, please click below and complete an application.

  • NPSF Classroom Grants - These grants have a $750 budget limit and are intended to serve a smaller group of students, such as a classroom. Grants are designed to fund educational opportunities for students that are not available through the school district's general budget. Classroom Grants are funded by the annual fundraising efforts of the Norfolk Public Schools Foundation. Learn more about the guidelines for Classroom Grants on the login page of the application portal.

  • Dan Furstenau Elementary Science Grants - This endowed fund was created in memory of NHS graduate Dan Furstenau and is designed to support science enrichment in grades K-6 at Norfolk Public Schools. The maximum award amount is $500 per teacher/classroom.

    • There is $1,000 available for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • Woodland Park Math/Science Enrichment Grant - A private donor with a fondness for Woodland Park Elementary has gifted the school with a fund to provide for math and science enrichment in their building. This will enable Woodland Park staff members to think of new and exciting ways to engage the students in these special fields.

  • Panthers Supporting Panthers Continuing Education Scholarships - Established by Chris and Mickie Mueller in 2024, this scholarship program provides support for qualified applicants to further their education at a college of their choice to become more equipped to serve the students of NPS. This scholarship is for teachers who have been with NPS for at least two years and have signed their letter of intent to return the following school year.

    • There are three $1,000 scholarships available this year.

  • Margaret Robinson Dual Credit Certification Continuing Education Scholarships - Established in memory of Margaret Robinson, this scholarship program provides financial support for qualified applicants to further their education and become certified to teach Dual Credit Courses at Norfolk Senior High, providing additional opportunities for NPS students to take classes for college credit. This scholarship is for educators who have signed their letter of intent to return the following school year, have a clear path to teaching needed Dual Credit Courses at the Senior High, and plan to remain at NPS for three years following the completion of their scholarship funds. (If a recipient leaves NPS prior to the completion of the three years, a prorated payment back to the NPS Foundation will be required.) This scholarship is only available every other year.
    • There are four scholarships available this year, each of which can support a teacher for up to 18 credit hours of college classes, getting them qualified to teach Dual Credit Courses, so long as they meet established criteria throughout their degree/endorsement. This criteria includes an approved timeline, acceptable grade updates, and a signed contract with the NPS Foundation.
