Mrs. Morgan's Class is Thankful for NPS Foundation Grant!

Mrs. Morgan’s First Graders have been busy using our reading skills to learn more about science.  Through the help of a Norfolk Public Schools Foundation Grant, our class has been able to use new hands on supplies to help us learn together.

Young Artists Get Creative in Art Class

First graders started out the year studying the work of artist Piet Mondrian.  They viewed and discussed Mondrian’s most famous paintings that were created using squares, rectangles and primary colors only.  After reviewing the elements of line, shape and color in art, the students created collages inspired by the master artist.  The students did an exceptional job!

Traditions of Giving Continue at Grant

Grant Elementary students participated in two long-time holiday traditions during December. These traditions benefit our community and fill the students with pride and the sense of joy that comes from helping others.

Buddy Classrooms

It has been a long 2 years, but Miss Gleason's third graders and Mrs. Suckstorf's kindergarteners are teaming up again. The Buddy Classes got together to learn about the Character Kids and social skills. A book was read entitled Character Kids Save the Day! Panther Partners at Grant

Starting last year, seniors from Norfolk High School who have an open period in their schedule have volunteered to be paired with an elementary student whom they visit one day a week for 30 minutes. During this time, the partners play games, read books, and do crafts, forming a mentoring relationship. In this picture, Melanie works with Gracie to complete a craft project.

Amazing Apples!

Apple Straws, apple butter, dried apples, homemade applesauce, and fresh apple slices brought smiles to the faces of Miss Cronin’s 2nd Graders throughout September. In reading, students read a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts about apples.
