Welcome to EEKK! Reading in First Grade!

"Elbow to Elbow and Knee to Knee, I'll read to you and you read to me!"
Students use EEKK! Reading to partner read during reading time. The partners listen to one another and help out with unknown words. This is one of our favorite times of the day! They get to show what they know and feel proud about the awesome reading they are doing!

I spy in First Grade....Wonderful Readers!

First grade students use their "Text Evidence Finders" to help them answer their comprehension questions. Students are learning to go back to the text to find answers to questions. They use their "Text Evidence Finders" to highlight the clue words they are looking for. They love being Text Detectives!

Honoring Our Heroes

On September 11, Mrs. Spiering's class learned about the heroes of September 11th and the heroes in our community. In honor of their heroes, they made patriotic flags with pictures of the Twin Towers, Pentagon, and a Police badge.

Money, Math, and My Friends!

Mrs. Thompson's 4th grade class had fun working with partners during a math lesson. Each person earned their own money and then came up with random amounts for their partner to show them. Demonstrating various amounts of money using $100, $10, and $1 helps us to learn and understand place value.
